We spent two nights in Venice where we met up with Lou for a night, such a treat and so amazing to see her. This city really is as enchanting as they say, bar the thousands of tourists! So we did what we do best and got lost in the night, seeking places as far away from the crowds as possible...It was an incredibile two night stay!
Our hotel room, typical Venetian charm.
The masks that are as much a part of Venice as the water and canals...They used to be a represenation of freedom of cultural expression.
A wonderful little wine bar we found in a small backstreet which we visited each evening. Here you could sit and watch the hours fly by, 'people watching' heaven! The Italian Campari spritzers have taken us, they are incredible!
Still smiling in the rain!
Think the picture speaks for itself but if I must, Dyl on a little bridge...
Little lanes that weave through the canals.
This is what it looks like all over the city... The ambience and romance really creeps into your heart...
Fresh the next morning, magnificent weather and ready to go and explore again..This was a view right outside of our hotel overlooking a gorgeous canal.
So pretty..
A gondola and its gondolier.
The main canal of Venice, was super busy as it is the major passage of transport for people and goods. There is something so amazing about being in an area with no cars and only waterway transportation and bikes. It was really peaceful.
Local talent!
Louella!!! Too wonderful to chill with her!
We had the most incredible sunset on the second evening..
Drinks and dinner with Lou.
Dyl and the hotel owner upon check out. We need to return to this magical city and stay for a few more nights!
